Guided Steps of Meditation Against Stress

Stress is a common part of everyday lives of people today, especially those who live in the busy city where the lives of people really run so fast. It affects both emotional and physical aspects of the person creating either negative or positive feelings. If the influence is positive, stress can push a person to an action stimulating and motivating. But if the influence is negative, it can create a feeling of rejection, distrust, depression, and anger. Worse, a person can develop health problems like upset stomach, headaches, insomnia, rashes, heart diseases, stroke, ulcers, and high blood pressure.

You need not get rid of the stress that you are feeling. All you need to do is to manage it in a way that it is beneficial. Somehow the competition, deadlines, and frustrations also enrich your life. One technique to manage stress is to meditate. Besides it being an easy way to ease the negative stresses that you are feeling, it is very beneficial as well. It is pretty calming that your stress can be reduced easily.

Here is a step guide for you to start meditating:

1. Practice breathing. Make sure that your breathing quality is light and still. Your breathing quality is very essential.

2. Balance your posture. Make your posture even, head up, and back straight. Slouching position indicates stress, and you would not want that.

3. Clear your thoughts. Imagine serene and relaxing settings. You can imagine yourself floating in relaxing waves of the ocean or a pool. Feel what you are imagining and take away all the stress and anxiety.

4. Acknowledge the root of all your stresses. This is very important. Denying the stress and its roots during the meditation process won't take you anywhere. Clearly acknowledge the stress and tell yourself that you will be able to handle it by thinking straight and focusing on finding ways to manage it. Take control of your mind and take it away from focusing on all the stresses and its causes.

5. Concentrate on your decision. You have decided to be peaceful and free from stress. No one can say or do anything against it.  Every time you are faced with stress, remind yourself of this decision.
