Herbal Benefits - What are the Benefits to Using Herbs?

Ironically, many of the so-called “new” herbal remedies being promoted today are centuries old. In a time where drug companies didn’t exist and expensive pharmaceuticals weren’t an option, herbs were often used to treat health issues and conditions. Unfortunately, as more and more money gets pumped into the pharmaceutical companies pockets, the less you hear of these natural (and much cheaper remedies).

In this brief article, I’m going to give you a brief overview of the benefits to using herbs and why you should consider turning to an all-natural, herbal alternative to the costly drug prescriptions being pushed in today’s corrupt healthcare system.

Before I go over a few of the benefits to using herbs, it’s important to note that not all herbal remedies are safe for long-term usage and if you’re considering an herbal remedy, be sure to look at the possible side-effects which may be caused.

The benefits to using herbs are many, but the most important are the fact that you’ll be using natural remedies as opposed to manufactured drugs and you’ll save a lot of money in the process. Drug companies continue to gouge their customers with excessively high drug costs and it is becoming somewhat of an epidemic. Add to this that doctor compensation for prescribing their meds is at an all-time high, and it’s no wonder that things have gotten out of control rather quickly.

If you have a health condition or are simply looking for a supplement to enhance your quality of life in some way, shape, or form, I highly recommend that you investigate the many benefits of going “natural” with herbal based remedies. Chances are, your doctor has (or will) prescribe an expensive drug to treat your issue, but you do have other options.

By: bcsmom | 10-05-2008
I live in West Tennessee, garden zone 7, and just planted several Kleims Hardy Gardenias.  The limbs are falling to the ground at the base of the plant and some of the leaves are turning yellow.  They have only been planted a week.  What do you think the problem is?  At first, I thought maybe a cat was crawling through them, but then I noticed that every one that I planted is doing the same thing.  Could I have planted it to deeply?  Should it have been raised above soil level?  We have had one drenching rain, but other than that, I have watered it often.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
