How to Naturally Cleanse the Colon

Interested in learning how to naturally cleanse your colon? When you have the urge to go but nothing comes out, it can be more serious than just a standard bowel problem.  When the colon is not clean, it can lead to other issues, such as in the kidneys.  There are several ways to treat a not-so-clean colon, including natural methods.

One way is changing how we eat.  All the convenient processed foods that work for a quick meal are likely to cause the problem.  These foods are more difficult to digest, possibly leading to constipation, then causing toxin buildup within the colon walls.  This can lead to gas, bloating and an overall unhealthy feeling- but not knowing why.

To fix this, eat healthy, natural foods like fruit and vegetables, as well as other fiber-rich ones like whole grains.  Water is always good to add to a diet, and the recommended dosage is eight glasses per day.  Some people worry that if they drink a lot of water, it will be retained.  However, that is only the case when not enough water is consumed.

Herbal supplements also can help with constipation and colon cleansing.  Enemas also are effective, but a colonic irrigation might be more pleasant, as the patient will rid the body of toxins without having to deal with the unpleasant odors.  These methods should be chosen above laxatives to avoid side effects that might be harmful, as those medicines often contain harsh chemicals.

A clean colon leads to a healthy feeling overall.  Some benefits include increased energy, clearer skin and a youthful look to the whites of the eyes.
