There is a wrong understanding among people that acne pimples accects only teenagers. But it also affects people between the age 10 to 40 years. IIn particular, it affects people aged at mid-20s the most. Mid-20s is the peak time for pimples to grow. Even those people who have never had or not been having acne breakouts all the while might start to develop acne pimples in period of time. On the other hand, many people generally get rid of acne after 40 years old. Acne pimple grows when skin cores are blocked and thus prevents oil from escaping. The causes of pimple remain unproven scientifically.

However, there have been many myths of the real causes:

1) Heredity:

Except for some people who suffer from severe acne breakouts just like their parents did, most people normally encounter exactly the same acne problems with their parents. Therefore, it is very unlikely that the tendency of growing acne pimples can be inherited from one generation to another.

2) Food:

People are usually advised to avoid oily, greasy and spicy food if they wish to prevent pimples from growing. However, there is no established scientific prove that these food cause or make them worse.

3) Hormones:

The effect of hormones is mild unless the woman has abnormal menstrual periods or excessive hair growth. Percentage of women who have these problems is almost insignificantly low.

4) Cosmetics:

As mentioned above, pimples appear when oil glands are blocked. Most of the cosmetics found in the market are not pore-clogging, especially those products that are water-based and oil-free. Therefore, cosmetics products are probably not a direct cause of acne pimples.

Since there is no way that these myths can be revealed in no time, we shall better spend time looking for an effective treatments.
