Eczema is a chronic skin condition which usually occurs in children and young infants. While there are plenty of over the counter and prescription medication to alleviate the symptoms of the condition, most parents would want to keep their children away from harsh chemicals. Thus, over the years we have seen the rising need for natural remedies for eczema. If you're suffering from this annoying and uncomfortable condition, then you may also be thinking twice about using chemical laden ointments to solve your problem. With that said, you may want to consider some natural remedies for eczema that are safe, effective and free from side effects.

Oatmeal for Itch Relief
Oatmeal is a good itch – relief remedy, and has been used for years for a number of itch related conditions. Parents usually give oatmeal baths or scrubs to kids suffering from chicken pox, measles, rashes and the like, and it will certainly work to relieve the itching caused by eczema. Oatmeal can be used to substitute most steroid-containing topical ointments, as it stops the inflammation and moisturizes the skin as well. Oatmeal can be used during a warm bath, or may be applied as a paste on areas affected by the condition.
Moisturize

Dry skin makes the condition worse, so it's important to keep the skin moisturized. Over the years, different kinds of natural oils and lotions have become popular in keeping the skin moisturized naturally. virgin coconut oil, for example, has moisturizing properties, and is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral as well. Aside from virgin coconut oil, Argan oil (from the Argania Spinosa tree in Morocco), aloe vera gel, virgin olive oil and even Emu oil (from the Emu bird indigenous to Australia) have also garnered many followers due to their anti – inflammatory, restorative and moisturizing properties. Some organic lotions incorporate a number of these ingredients into one product that can be used for all parts of the body.
Camphor and Sandalwood Paste

Camphor and sandalwood can be mixed to form a paste. Camphor is antibacterial in nature, while Sandalwood paste on the other hand stops skin inflammation which causes itching and discomfort. A teaspoon of camphor and Sandalwood paste goes a long way as it works as an instant inch relief for the condition.

Milk CompressA milk compress is good for acne flare ups. All you need to do is soak up a cloth in very cold milk and apply the compress on to the affected area for ten to fifteen minutes. This compress will help calm the itching sensation. These mentioned remedies only sit on the tip of the iceberg when it comes to other numerous treatments and remedies for eczema. You may want to try each of them in order to find out the best that works for you. It's good to remember, however, that these natural eczema remedies only address the symptoms of the condition. Once you have the eczema symptoms addressed, you can now go on and investigate the root cause of the problem so that you can completely stop the condition from bothering you forever.
