Rhodiola quadrifida belongs to  Rhodiola genus and  has been used as an traditional medicine  in China for over 1000 years. It is found growing in the higher altitude regions of China, Russia and Pakistan. It is a perennial dioecious herb with a long slender root and thick elongated rhizome. Each rhizome supports a simple erect flowering stem and scaly radical leaves. It is one of about 90 species from the Rhodiola genus which are all found growing in the cold areas of the Northern Hemisphere. Another name of Rhodiola Quadrifida is Pallas.

Rhodiloa quadrifiga is a wholly unique plant that is rich in tannins, organic acids, volatile oils, proteins, oils and minerals. Its high bio-activity makes it an ideal tonic to help support men’s health, helping to reduce vessel spasm and enriching blood composition. The herb is also said to speed healing of fractures and to increase mental and physical performance.

The styptic action of the herb also makes it useful to treat dysfunctional womb bleeding. Rhodiola has been historically used as a folk medicine for many different kinds of female diseases including erosion, sterility endometriosis, and myoma. It has also been shown to be helpful in the treatment  of endocrine and thyroid gland problems.  It is especially potent for the treatment of heavy blood  flow during menstruation, menopause, and mestopathy.
