Spirulina has been a traditional food source for some ancient tribes like Aztecs and other Mesoamericans. It is a microscopic organism which contains more than 65% of protein along with a huge amount of other nutrients. The single-celled and spiral-shaped organisms are found mostly in blue-green color. Normally, these creatures grow naturally in the lakes located in the tropical and subtropical areas. These algae grow much faster and can produce a huge amount of protein per acre in comparison to some other cultivation like soya beans. Among other usages, it is used as both a dietary supplement and a whole food, and even prescribed as a primary food to be used during space-missions of long durations.

Again, it does not cause any adverse side-effects on the human body as it uses an organism as its prime ingredient which is healthy and 100% natural.

Dosage: The diet supplement is available in both tablet and powder form. Each form is equally effective and they contain the organism without any added binders, fillers or additives. A set of people believe the powder form of Spirulina to be more edible and appetizing, while others find the form unpalatable and prefer to mix the powder with water, juice, or even natural yoghurt. The powder is also effective in dressing an external wound or ulcer and can be applied by mixing it with other creams. But the exact dosage of diet supplement consumption differs from people to people and website to website. However, it is always advisable to start with a low dose and increase the proportion gradually.
