We all face different kinds challenges and obstacles, and sometimes the pressure is really hard to handle. When we feel overwhelmed and  under the gun, or unsure how to meet the demands placed on us, we experience stress. In the small doses, stress itself can be a good thing. It can give you the push you need  and  motivating you to do your best and to stay focused and alert. Stress is what keeps you on your toes during a presentation and at work or drives you to study for your midterm when you'd rather be watching TV. But when its going gets too tough and life's demands exceed your ability to cope, stress harld  becomes a threat to both your physical and emotional well-being.

What is stress?
Stress is a psychological and physiological response to those events that upset our personal balance in some way. When faced with a threat, whether to our physical safety or emotional equilibrium, the body's defenses then kick into high gear in a rapid, automatic process known as the “fight-or-flight” response and We all know what this stress response feels like: heart pounding in the chest, muscles become tensing up, breath coming faster, every sense on red alert.

Many people experience stress on a regular  basis, and many of the stressors are the same for everyone. Some people are those by nature or habit, more susceptible to stress, or more likely to be stressed by something that really  would more easily roll off someone else's back. However, according to a poll on this site, as well as other research that the following are causes of stress to a good portion of the population:

We may think of stressful events as the unpleasant ones, such as losing a job or having difficulties at home or at the school. But changes for the better can also grounds stress, like a new baby, and a wedding, and a new house.
In an ideal world,  it maybe we could get away from stressful situations, or change them. Too often we can't do that - but  if we can learn to control our response to those situations. And we can develop these techniques that will reduce the effects of stress on our mental and physical health.

People react to stress in other different ways. Once you identify your own signs of stress, they can almost serve as your personal early warning system.
Think of yourself as a car that's equipped with  the lights and gauges to warn you if any problems are developing. If you keep an eye on the gauges and catch the trouble itself early, the problem may be easy to fix. If you ignore these  warning signs, you may be in for a major repair job.
You should assess yourself for four types of stress signs:
•    Changes in body functions and physical health
•    Changes in emotions and feelings
•    Changes in behavior
•    Changes in thoughts
