Backaches are very common during pregnancy because of the considerable anatomical changes and stress in the body. In other cases, persons feel pain in his or her back due to sedentary living habits and hazardous work patterns.
There are some home remedies that can ease backache like the following:
- Eat two or three cloves every morning.
- Prepare medicinal oil by frying ten cloves of garlic in 60 ml of sesame or coconut oil in a frying pan. Fried on a slow fire till is browned. After the oil has cooled and still hot, rub vigorously on the back, and allow remain there for three hours. Then take a warm-water bath.
- Mix a teaspoon of juice of lemon with common salt. Take twice daily.
- Apply raw potato in the back pain area.
- Use heat pads for 20 to 30 minutes at a time.
In addition to these home remedies, there are some useful recommendations for natural cure of backache::
- Do exercise as walking, swimming and bicycling which improve the supply of nutrients to spinal discs
- Keep the back upright
- Control one’s weight
- Take a break to stand up every hour if you have a sedentary occupation
- Avoid cushioned seats
- Sleep on a firm mattress on their sides with knees bent at right angles to the torso.
- When lift any object, swat close to the object, bend the knees but keep the back straight and then stand up slowly.
