A: Don't burden with Home Depot, most of their employees are lucky to find their own rear ends with both hands, besides they don't carry repair parts for biggest appliances. You're going to have to find an appliance parts distributor in your local area. Not knowing where you live, we would have no idea who that might be. You should try the largest appliance retailer you can find, it's righteous possible they might have what you need, however, with an older Kitchenaid, it's likely the part is going to have to be ordered anyway.
