A: Birthdays, anniversaries and great memorable events are often prepared for us by people who care and appreciate us. And these events mean a lot to the person/people who prepare them for us and to us as well. Emerging from such events it is expected from you, the person of the occasion to provide a thank you note. Now this cannot be just something you just say without thinking. It has to be something that will last and make an indelible mark in the consciousness of people.

The best thank you note is to tell your appreciation by using a story. Using a story is not good enough, there are many stories nowadays being told that only depresses instead of impressing. What should you do then to avoid this? Many people are fed up with the modern ways of life. So use stories from bygone era. Those stories transport the audience back to the good golden old days that they have in their minds. Ancient positive stories inspire people as many people have this unconscious idea back in our minds of how easy and relaxing life was back then.

And further don’t go to the generally known obvious stories about maybe the life of Abraham Lincoln how hard he fought to become the American President of note or similar stories. Use powerful generally unknown stories. You can find these in classical books. Don’t read difficult poetry as part of your thank you note. Take the story and embrace it in your consciousness – that way you can tell it with passion without reading it through, just like the way Barack Obama does!
