A: From the foods we eat to the clothes we wear, the cars we drive, the pills we ingest, even the mate we choose, biology forms the basis to everything we do.

Think about it: every waking and sleeping moment of our lives involves biology. We sleep on hypoallergenic sheets. Why? Our biological makeup may make us sensitive to certain bacteria, thus the choice is made to live in a more biologically sound fashion.

The pills and food we eat have been tested and must pass stringent standards. Why? To make sure that the things that we intake are safe and biologically sound.

We wear or avoid certain clothes because our bodies react biologically to the cloth that is placed on them - wool may itch, polyester keeps our skin from breathing, cotton is touted as being the fabric of our lives.

One theory as to why we choose the mate that we do has to do with pheromones - our biological reaction to another.

We have but scratched the surface of the question of biology in everyday life and its applications.
