This is actually very rare. Most folks write articles for the backlinks and search engine juice they get from those links.

There are so many more variables that play a part in using articles to make money online that the answer would cover several areas or topics to get you to fully understand the magnitude of what 1 article can do.

The more articles you have posted will increase your chances.

I know for a fact that the more important issue or topic is "What is the article about". Is it about something that people really want to know about, have a need for, or is it a hot topic. You have asked one of the 'killer questions' every internet marketer who is using article marketing wants to have answered. It is a great question and the answer will depend on a number of variables; some of which you can control and some of which you can't.

The popularity of the niche you are writing in, the willingness of the article reader to want to buy, the quality of the article, the bio box, the number of similar articles around and even the time of year that you post could all be determining factors.

I bet you could ask this question to some university professor and given enough time he could come up with a precise formula to answer your question - the problem is that it would take a genius to understand what any of it meant!

Making money online is part art and part science but the key thing you need to remember is that you will need three elements in place:

1. A product or products that people want to buy from you.
2. An online sales system - squeeze page, sales page, autoresponder etc.
3. A system or systems to drive traffic to your sales system.

Articles will drive traffic to your site in time. The more you write the more people will see them and the more traffic will get driven to your site.

Some people will get a signup with just one article, others may need to write ten or maybe 100.

Generally, any number can land you sales, but the more you write the better writer you'll be. In my opinion... pardon me because I'm not perfect... all internet marketers(article marketers included) should learn Hypnotic Writings or Hypnotic Marketing because people's mind are influenced to take action(buy a product etc.) simply because of words.

Example; By now= Buy now( this in hypnotic terms is called Phonological Ambiguity). Google for Joe Vitale's stuff you'll understand better.

A: If you're brilliant or better lucky, one is enough. I'd put the reasonable number at 50? Why? It will give you a good number of backlinks and there are very few people who try Internet Marketing who are persistent enough to publish 50 articles. The rule though is the more the better.

A: Well it depends. Depends upon what , how and where you are writing the article and what are you doing to promote the same. Good keyword selection, Good CPC value or tactical product recommendation and writing the article with on-page SEO in mind are the deciding factors factors. A single article can make you lot of money by selling advertisements or affiliate products if it is properly promoted with the link building technique. Hope it helps.

A: The answer to that question needs several approaches:

1. You will need quite a few articles even if you are really really good in writing articles. (it is an extremely challenging arena)

2. You will need fewer articles if you can promote your 'excellent' articles in
