I can generate enough income with a 6% dividend and will not have to touch the principal. Why do I need more than one mutual fund. I have found bond funds that pay 6%+

A: Simple answer .you Do not ,?
I am not sure which country you belong to I Presume you are fron India .
Yes the bond market will give you 6% and if you so not wish to take additional risk for additional return it is perfectly fine, as your need or rather your financial goal is fulfilled by your investment

Just Take care that the underlying asset's of the Bond Mutual Fund is appropriate for your risk appetite.

A: Generate enough income.

If you invested $1,000,000 and getting a 6% return that figure would be $60,000 which is enough income. If you invested $100,000 and getting 6% return that figure would be $6,000 which to me is not enough income.

As long as your satisfied with your enough income don't change it.
