Is the coldcathode light bulb designed to work in chicken houses?i am using the 8 watt/45 bulb.iam losing four or five bulbs per batch.do i have to have a certain demmer for the bulbs? thanks, tommie

A: They should work fine in chicken houses, however CFLs are not dimmable by default. You have to get compact fluorescent light bulbs that are made for dimming if you plan to use a dimmer.

A: If you are using an 8w lamp, sounds to me it is a CFL (not incandescent) which are a non dimmable light bulb.
