A: Carbohydrate stores in the body bound to water. When you dramatically reduce calories, and the body turns towards the glucose (breakdown of carbohydrates) for energy, the water it was bound to is flushed out. Very low-calorie diets also send a message of starvation to your body, and the metabolism slow to conserve energy. Just want you don't want to happen! It takes a reduction of 3500 calories to burn a pound of fat. That means you need to have a 500 calorie deficit a day to lose fat weight. The safest and smartest was to do so is to reduce your caloric intake by 250 calories, and burn off 250 calories in exercise and activity.

A: Low calorie diet regime as promoted in cabbage soup diet, likely to be the result of water loss in the first place instead of fat. Usually, you will gain it back to get your muscle mass back.

A: Fat and Protein require a lot of water to be broken down for use in the body. When intake is decreased the body will shed water . Fat cells also are never lost by the body, it is a common misconception .
