A: Because it saves energy. Energy on its turn is sometimes produced using methods that put CO2 in the atmosphere, which in turn heats up our planet. So you save money, and our planet in the process.

A: A: Many researches have been carried out and it has been found that energy saving bulbs contribute to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions as they need less electricity. As they are more efficient than traditional bulbs at changing heat energy to light, they use less electricity and are therefore much cheaper to use in a household and are also cost effective and will last up to 10 times longer than a traditional bulb. Just one energy saving bulb could save up to £3-6 a year and fitting all the lights in a house with energy saving bulbs could save around £37 a year and £590 over the lifetime of all of the bulbs.
