Do you want to look younger than your real age? And do you want to be mentally and physically fit at the same time?

The aging process is caused by several aspects. Here are the 12 tips against aging!

1. Reduce Calories

Several studies have shown that overweight and the related diseases cause premature aging. Work on finding ways to take in fewer calories while still enjoying foods that you love or prefer.

A good formula is to eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables, to consume one or two times a week fish and every day low-fat dairy products. Use vegetable oil to prepare your food.

2. Avoid Animal Fat

If your diet contains lots of animal fat this will over-acidify your body and promote free radicals. Therefore over-acidifying shall shorten the lifetime. Fatty food leads to overweight and in the long-term to high blood pressure, diabetes and joint diseases.

3. Physical Exercise

The benefits of exercise accrue over time. So, it's worth to regularly perform quick bouts of exercise.

Physical activity is excellent for beating stress. During periods of exercise your body releases feel-good endorphins.

Your body will see incredible benefits and you will also look your best.

4. Stay Slim

People who are slim do stress their body less and have therefore better chances to become older. All diseases that are caused by overweight are robbing years of life. So, you will gain life years if you are in the lower range of normal weight.

5. Get Plenty of Sleep

During sleep the body is resting, repairing and regenerating itself from the stress of daytime activities. For staying young this is an important factor.

6. Melatonin Production

Melatonin is a hormone that sets our internal biological clock and helps regulate sleep. In addition, it has an antioxidant effect and strengthens the immune system. The amount of melatonin we produce is determined by how dark or light our surroundings are.

7. Train the Brain

Our brain requires adequate amount of blood, oxygen, water and carbohydrates to function properly. In order that even the smallest brain vessels stay open and get well supplied with blood, consume Ginko Biloba.

Focusing regularly on something new is a very helpful training for the brain. The repetition of mental exercise will benefit you in the long run by helping to keep you mentally young. Activate all senses - seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching and feeling.

Try to walk backwards sometimes – this is a hot tip!

8. Meet Friends

Social ties keep us emotionally healthy and the mind young. This includes good friends and colleagues, a partner you can trust.

Exchange ideas and to laugh together is what keep you young.

9. Drink Green Tea

Especially organic green tea has strong antioxidant effects. It contains theobromine, vitamin B, E and C, fluoride, zinc and bioflavonoids that have a positive influence on health and help eliminate the harmful free radicals.

It's a good idea to consume 2-3 cups of green tea per day.

10. Vitamins and Trace Elements

For staying young primarily antioxidants are important. These are vitamin C and E, but also selenium, coenzyme Q-10, folic acid and alpha lipoic acid.

Zinc strengthens the immune system. Calcium helps to keep bones and teeth strong and magnesium is needed for healthy muscles and nerves.

11. Proper Dosage of Sun

Sun exposure is very important for manufacturing vitamin D. This vitamin is so important for the health of nearly every system in the body.

Spending some time outdoors can actually be good for your skin. Sun exposure should be moderated based on your skin type and its sensitivity to sunlight.

12. Check the DHEA level

Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) has many functions in the body that influence health and aging.

As we age the amount of DHEA, a natural hormone, begins to steadily decrease. As a result more must be obtained from our diets in order to maintain the levels we had during our youth.

The hormone should only be used under a physician's supervision.
