Discover an Effective Age Spot Reducer

Looking for an effective agespot reducer? There are actually several effective solutions. But, the overall effectiveness of an age spot reducer is dependant upon the amount of sun exposure that you have. If you can cut back on time spent in the sun or make an effort to protect the affected area from it, you will enjoy greater success.

A small percentage of these heavily pigmented spots are caused by hormone imbalance, primarily increased estrogen production. They may be seen during pregnancy, for example. But, those typically fade quickly, without the use of an agespot reducer, once the baby is born.

The largest percentage is due to overexposure to the sun. That's why they appear on the hands, face and other areas that are most frequently exposed. If you are over the age of 40 and you get a minor sun burn, these "age-related" spots may appear in a month or so.

They are more accurately referred to as sun spots or solar lentigos. They are similar to freckles, but even people that are not prone to freckling may find the need for an effective age spot reducer. There are several recommended products and one to be avoided at all cost. But, regardless of the product you use, you must make every effort to protect the area from the sun. That may mean wearing a hat with a wide brim or applying a sun-block that contains zinc oxide.

Other sunscreens are simply ineffective and may do more harm than good. It is UVA radiation that causes these spots, but UVB rays cause sunburn. SPF ratings are solely designed to help you gauge how you are protected from burning. That's why you may see the spots appear, even if you regularly use sunscreen and have not suffered a burn.

One effective age spot reducer is also a good nighttime moisturizer. It's called Shea butter. You have probably heard of it and may even be using creams that contain it. But, only the highest grade is an effective agespot reducer. Most grades won't do the job.

It takes Shea butter about four to six weeks to work. If you want a "faster" age spot reducer, look for one that includes Functional Keratin. By increasing the production of new cells, Functional Keratin increases the rate at which the epidermis is replaced. Normally, that would take four to six weeks, depending on your age. With Functional Keratin, you should see faster results.

A cream containing Shea butter and Functional Keratin is not merely an agespot reducer, it is an anti-aging solution. The two combined will increase firmness in less than three weeks. If you have a bit of a sagging neckline, you'll enjoy that feature.

Make no mistake about it. An age spot reducer designed solely to inhibit melanin production, the cause of the brown spots, should include extracts from the nut-grass root. An agespot reducer containing hydroquinone is the one to be avoided. Researchers believe that hydroquinone increases the cancer risk and they know it causes irritation. But, that's okay, because we have a safe alternative.
