Do Anti Ageing Creams Really Work Or Are You Wasting Your Money?

Posted: May 19, 2010 |Comments: 0 | Views: 108 |

So you've turned 50. And after a half century of life you're really beginning to notice signs of aging on your face. You're starting to see the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, particularly around the eyes, perhaps you're beginning to suffer from age spots and dark circles under your eyes.

You're only 50, you shouldn't be seeing any premature signs of aging yet, so you've started to read the wrinkle cream reviews to see if you can discover which is the best anti aging cream and see if you can start to reverse those signs of skin aging.

But do anti aging creams do anything at all?

We are bombarded with expensive television advertising by 25-year-old starlets telling us that if only we can find the best anti aging product (which they are selling) we can look like them. That the best wrinkle creams will turn our 50-year-old face into the face of a 20 year old. It's in magazines, it's on our internet screens, it's everywhere we turn.

The bad news is that even the very best anti aging cream will not turn a 50 year old into a 20 year old. The advertising that bombards us is exaggerated and makes claims that no anti aging cream, no matter how good, can live up to. Even those so-called "complete rejuvenation systems" won't make you look like a 20 year old again.

But it's not true to say therefore that anti-aging creams don't work. Whilst we might have unrealistically high expectations from all that expensive advertising the truth is that there are anti wrinkle creams that are effective.

However big brand name companies don't produce these. These companies are essentially marketing companies. They are very good at selling their products, but they are not selling high quality products. They make those huge profits from marketing rather than product quality.

There is solid scientific research over many decades that has uncovered many of the reasons why our skin deteriorates as we age. The process is understood, the nature of skin cells is known, and it is also known that there are excellent natural ingredients which can very effectively improve our skin health.

However these natural ingredients very rarely appear in the mainstream anti aging wrinkle creams. Most of these products contain cheap chemical ingredients rather than the more expensive and more natural alternatives. This is so that the big name companies can minimize the cost of the products to maximize the marketing budget.

The reality is that there are excellent anti aging creams available. They will not make a 50 year old look like a 20 year old. It is unrealistic to expect them to do so, despite the advertising. However they are very effective in improving the levels of collagen and elastin in the skin and improving skin moisture so that overall health is improved and the look and feel of your skin also improves.

And the best of them even comes with a money back guarantee.

Don't be taken in by the advertising, but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. There are very good natural skin care products available which will improve the look and feel of your skin. But don't expect to look like a 20-year-old again. Manage your expectations.
