Women from all walks of life, from different race and culture are known to be aware and careful of their skin. Plenty of women have nightly and daily routines that they follow religiously to take care of their skin.

Having a skin that is smooth and free from blemishes is what they are aiming for. Since beauty is highly regarded in many cultures, many women feel the pressure to remain beautiful and young.

The skin in our face is quite different when compared to the skin in our legs. Our face is more delicate and prone to problems. The skin in our face contains many sebaceous glands that secrete a substance called sebum. The sebum in the face is prone to bacterial invasion which could cause skin breakout or pimples. The skin in our legs does not secrete much sebum, in contrast to the amount of sebum released by sebaceous glands in the face.

Because of your exposure to the sun, you may develop sun damage in your skin. Wrinkles may actually form because of long days under the sun. Be sure to protect your skin with a sunscreen when you are going out.

As we age, we may lose skin elasticity through the reduction of elastin and collagen. This will lead to wrinkles in the face.

Most skin creams are developed to fight off those unwanted wrinkles. Face creams are applied on a regular basis to ensure that moisture is absorbed by the drying, aging face. The application of moisturizers also works to prevent lines from forming.

Face creams come in different packages. Some are placed inside jars, plastic bottles or sachets. Products range from mass-produced creams to designer face creams that are very costly.

The active ingredient for most face creams that fight off wrinkles is retinoids. Retinoids have been shown to actually reduce fine lines in the face. Go for products that contain that ingredient.

Face creams or things that are applied on the face do not have to be bought. Sometimes, you just need to look around you, especially in your background because there you might actually find something that may work for your face.

It is advisable to consult your dermatologist so that he or she can correctly diagnose the condition of your face. You can ask her what you can do to improve your facial skin health. You can inquire about what you may need to keep your face looking young and fresh.
