The Ugly Lies About Body Creams

Posted: Dec 06, 2009 |

Are you following the quest to remain eternally youthful? Join the club! The first problem about aging is that it is going to affect every cell in our bodies but our skin, which is our largest organ, is going to be the most obvious and visible target.

Body creams are going to be our first line of defence as we refuse the more expensive and invasive treatments such as surgery, injections or other treatments which will leave us with a large hole in our bank accounts and a long phase of recovery which may demand a lot of patience.

As we age, our skin dries up as we are no longer capable of producing the cells which can keep it hydrated and that applies to the whole body. That is why hydration from both within (water, fruit and vegetables) and externally (applying body creams) is so important.

Sagging skin which is no longer firm and supple will be subject to a lot of onslaughts from elements of pollution in the air, from over exposure to the sun. That may have happened at some point in the past during our foolish youth or more recently as we forget to make sure there is a build in sunscreen in any beauty product, such as body creams, we happen to be using.

The one essential element in keeping suppleness and elasticity is of course collagen. Did you know that we actually lose about 2% of this precious protein every year after the age of 20 in the areas which are exposed to the sun? One of the ugly lies about body creams is that they contain collagen but it cannot penetrate the skin unless there is a special ingredient which I will tell you about below. This has been developed in New Zealand for use in body lotion and creams.

Have a careful look at the label of any body creams you may be tempted to buy. Forget the testimonial from a VIP you admire and spend some time examining the ingredients on the actual product or on their website. Make sure that the synthetic substances such as mineral oils (petrolatum and paraffin wax) are not present. Look out for all natural products which might include such things as Phytessence Wakame, (a Japanese seaweed) Shea Butter and Natural vitamin E.

Another one of the ugly lies that cosmetic companies like to shout about is the fact that their research laboratories are cutting edge. Their research budget is probably miniscule and their publicity budget is astounding.

The company that has discovered the secret ingredient which can actually help to regenerate the collagen all over your body is not well known but it is dedicated to producing high quality body lotion and creams which are second to none. Why not click through to find out how this secret ingredient works.
