It sure is easy finding an anti aging skin care product, because there are hundreds available on the market. In fact, the age-defying industry in general is huge and product manufacturers know that people will spend whatever it takes to make themselves look younger and feel better. For instance, cosmetic surgery is a popular option with billions of dollars spent on it yearly. You can bet that the anti aging skin care products market is no different. Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent on these products every single year. The trouble is that most of them don't work. They are sold by unscrupulous marketers who are just trying to take advantage of our desire to look younger. However, some truly effective products are available as well. This article provides some tips and suggestions on how to choose a good product. Let’s get started. First off, look for a product without fragrances in it. Many anti aging skin care product manufacturers include fragrances that smell nice when you open the jar and when you put it on your skin. That smell may be pleasant, but you should be aware that the chemicals in fragrances have toxins in them. Skin is porous, and it will absorb these toxins which eventually enter your bloodstream and potentially harm you over time. A better choice when it comes to fragrances is to use perfume or a bodyspray. Using an anti aging skin care product means massaging it into your face and body. That covers a fairly large surface area. Compare that to just one or two quick sprays for perfume to work. Next, shy away from any anti aging skin care product that advertises collagen. Unfortunately, advertisers are trying to take advantage of a common ignorance. Many people understand that one of the reasons for wrinkles and sagging skin is that collagen in our skin breaks down as we age. So it seems that we would be smart to buy an age-defying skin care product that has collagen in it. Turns out, that makes no sense. Your skin cannot absorb collagen when applied topically because its molecules are too big to penetrate. Instead you should look for products that have ingredients that are proven to stimulate your body to make more collagen itself. Lastly, here are some reasons why some products are so expensive. Most products don’t sell themselves. Manufacturers of course want to get their products into the most hands. So, some do that by spending a large part of their budgets on marketing, rather than making their products the best they can be. For example, to get people to buy their products, companies seek out models and celebrities to promote their products. They also know that if they put their products in artful glass jars and designer tubes consumers are more likely to buy them. And, by spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on full-page advertisements in fashion magazines and on infomercials, even more people will buy. This kind of marketing costs a small fortune. One international cosmetics icon, Max Factor, has used a number of celebrities to promote their products. Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen is one of those more recently contracted with Max Factor, potentially replacing Carmen Electra as the face of that brand. How much money do you suppose this company agreed to pay Ms. Bundchen (and Ms. Electra) in such deals? One report pegs the Bundchen deal at 2.5 million dollars alone! Where does the money come from to pay ongoing royalties for celebrity endorsements? Well mostly likely the company marks up the price of their products to compensate for this. This is one reason why I am convinced that smaller, unknown, companies who primarily invest in product R&D is the way to go when it comes to the best anti aging skin care products, and other “look younger” products for that matter. Because these little known companies aren’t paying celebrities millions to endorse their products, they can keep their product cost lower, and have enough money left over to make better products. With a bit of research, you too can find products produced by companies that are just like this. The bottom line is, look for anti aging skin care products without fragrances that have ingredients that are proven to stimulate your body to produce its own collagen, made by companies that spend more to develop their products than to promote them.
