What You Need To Know About Peeling Products Before Trying Them On Your Age Spots

Posted: Mar 11, 2011 |Comments: 0 |

Chemical peeling products are some of the treatments used to get rid of age spots. They generally get rid of the surface layers of the skin to reveal younger and healthier skin layers underneath.

However, using chemical peeling products is not as easy as using whitening creams. It has to require a great deal of knowledge about alchemy. You also have to be aware of the things that can go wrong if you use this treatment. Here are some of them:

1. The peeling process might not work out evenly.

There are situations when the peeling process does not go about evenly. There are areas of the skin that peel without a hitch while there are areas that remain stubbornly resistant to the peeling product.

You might end up with an uneven skin tone or splotches of white marks all over your skin if you don't know how to use it properly. It is imperative that you spread the product evenly. You also have to allow it to work at exactly the same time to make sure that the treatment will go well.

2. The peeling process might be itchy.

The damaged layers of your skin will be loosened up. This process can be a bit unsettling and uncomfortable especially for people with sensitive skin. It can itch or tingle.

Before trying the chemical peeling product, you might want to do a patch test first to see if your skin will not react adversely. Cut your nails short as well to avoid scratching the surface of your renewing skin.

3. You might become more susceptible to photoaging.

While undergoing chemical peeling treatments, make sure that you stay safely indoors, away from the sun's UV rays. The UV rays of the sun can penetrate deeply into the skin to damage collagen fibers. Because of the chemical peeling product on your skin, your dermis can burn under the sun easily.

There are other alternatives in reducing age spots. You can always go for milder whitening treatments such as a whitening cream with Extrapone Nutgrass, Phytessence Wakame and Maracuja.

Extrapone Nutgrass is a plant with root extracts that can lighten age spots by as much as 45% during the first two weeks of use. With continuous use, this ingredient can fade those spots completely.

Phytessence Wakame is a type of sea kelp with the ability to prevent the sudden loss of hyaluronic acid. This acid is essential in the lubrication of collagen fibers. When collagen fibers are properly nourished, the regeneration process of the dermis can work seamlessly.

Maracuja is a type of Brazilian passion fruit with the ability to hydrate the inner layers of the skin. It has emollient properties that can prevent skin dryness.
