Even modern kitchens can comfortably accommodate any old grinder.

Coffee grinders in majority have secured their place since the 1920s. However, they were invented much before that year. During this era, the design of the coffee grinders was largely influenced by the Art Deco movement. Hence, it had lustrous designs and intricate lines which decorated the grinder very well. Such models can be found easily at popular antique outlets. The Art Deco period saw the trend of stylish designs.

Antique coffee grinders were usually made from wood having metal designs and patterns on them. It was generally left unpainted which added to the beauty of the grinder because of the natural shine of wood. The handles of the grinders were made of cast iron which made the coffee grinders even more appealing and attractive.

The oldest known coffee grinder is the Parker Nation coffee mill that was manufactured in Connecticut, USA. It was constructed in the year 1905 and represents the traditional coffee mills. It has a pleasant shape and the top is covered with bronze finish.
