Owing to its topography and location, Alaska is one of least connected states in the US. But this should not deter you from visiting Alaska with a US visa as the populated urbanized areas have a good transportation system. Tunnels are a unique feature you will find in Alaska's roadway system.
For intercity travel, you can rely on the Alaska Railroad, which connects cities like Anchorage, Denali, and Fairbanks. Air transport is the backbone of the transportation system with many areas still inaccessible by road and rail.
When you come to Alaska after you win US visa in the US Green card lottery, the first thing you can do is to treat your palate with Alaskan special menu. Sea foods are very popular here. Special items are smoked salmon, caribou stew, and halibut. You will also find other cuisines in Alaska.
Health care system in Alaska is not neglected one bit. In fact, you will be surprised to find that this state has some very advanced medical centers such as Banner Health and Providence Alaska Medical Center. The latter, located in Anchorage is the largest hospital in Alaska providing the most comprehensive health care facility.
The state also has a VA Health Care Center apart from other hospitals and nursing homes. So don't shy away from visiting Alaska with a diversity immigrant visa.
