It might seem a little Space Aged and maybe even a bit odd, but the writing is on the wall, computer television is quickly becoming the way people get their entertainment.
From streaming video sites, downloads available for purchase and satellite TV for the computer, the advantages to pc tv are starting to really add up.
The benefits of computer television over regular TV are so great, in fact, a study by the British Internet Broadcasting Company concluded online video would be the dominate format for such things as movies within a few short years.
With more and more networks offering their shows for online viewing, there's no doubt that computer tv is the trend of the decade.
What can be found through computer television is amazing, too. From local shows to international news broadcast directly from the country of origin, there's never a shortage of things to watch.
So, why are so many people turning to pc tv versus regular cable or local programming?
The answer to that question is a lot! Let's look at why so many are choosing computer tv to augment or even completely replace regular viewing means:
* Variety. Computer tv provides a variety that a regular cable company or local programming just can't match. All you have to do is have a computer and a good Internet connection and you're good to go. Satellite adds another element that can really enhance the viewing variety, as well. From regular homegrown programming to international shows, internet tv provides a world of entertainment that most people can only imagine. In fact, thanks to computer television people can readily access programming from just about any country in the world. This means the number of news, drama, comedy and children's stations is mind-boggling. There's always something on when a viewer wants to watch it.
* International flavor. While regular cable and satellite provide only a handful of stations, www tv can hook viewers into programming from around the globe. This provides a window on the world that regular television just can't match.
* Pricing. The cost of online television generally is a whole lot cheaper than other means of obtaining legal programming.
* On demand services. In this fast-paced day and age, it's hard to be certain you'll be able to sit down at a set time and watch what you want when you want. Computer television with its on demand features makes this easy. Record and/or "demand" the show you want, when you want it and you're good to go.
* Portability. Many pc based tv setups enable viewing on regular televisions and portable electronic devices in addition to computer screens. With the right set up you can watch dramas from around the world just about anywhere at any time or so on.
Computer television might seem like something out of a science fiction movie, but the truth is the trend is one that's here and it's here to stay.
With thousands of viewers now turning to their computers rather than their television sets to watch shows, download movies and get the latest news, there's no denying computer television is a growing means of getting news, information and entertainment.
