Following his on-screen wife's previous nuptials in July this year, Desperate Housewives star Ricardo Chavira, who plays Carlos Solis in the highly-watched ABC dramedy, finally stood before the altar with the woman he will be spending the rest of his life with. Last month, Chavira married his longtime girlfriend in a literally down to earth fashion, in contrast to Eva Longoria's lavish 07-07-07 wedding.
In fact, it was only last week that the actor confirmed the wedding to Entertainment Tonight, and prior to that, not a word was spoken about the event.
Chavira and his girlfriend of several years, Marcea Dietzel, tied the knot during a private ceremony held on September 22 in San Antonio, Texas, confirmed Desperate Housewives publicist, Chandler Hayes. Both 36 years old, the couple has a four-year-old son, Tomas, who served as a best man and ring bearer for his parents' nuptials.
Unlike co-star Eva Longoria's well-publicized wedding, Chavira and his wife opted for a quiet ceremony and celebration, without all the media hovering all over the event. They even swapped their traditional suit and wedding dress with some simple pajamas.
In addition, the reception following the matrimonial ceremony was replaced with their attendance in their son's soccer match.
As for other Desperate Housewives news, as an update about the buzz created by the new season premiere episode involving a remark about Filipino medical practitioners, the Northern California chapter of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) has announced that it is filing a $500 million class-action lawsuit against ABC. The said complaint is reportedly an effort to protect the credibility of Filipino doctors.
"What's important here is that this is sending a message to the other producers, the other stations that if you do this, this is what's going to happen," affirmed Filipino lawyer Rodel Rodis.
