Fan Apparel Brings Out the Fun in Fan

Who's your favorite team? You know the one that you will die to watch and cry when they lose, laugh when they win and watch faithfully with your friends and family. Everyone (almost) has one. Even women today have found that there are sports teams or specific athletes that they love. And like any fan they want to show their love by wearing it on their sleeve, literally. Fan apparel is a big time business. In fact most teams count on a portion of that apparel to increase their overall revenue. Sporting teams have more types of apparel for the fan than you can shake a stick at. If you like them, you will find the clothes to support that like.

It's not just professional sports either. Fan apparel really starts with school teams. The schools produce (or hire someone to produce) all types of team spirit apparel. You can walk through any high school and see tons of shirts, pants and sweats with the high school team's logo and in some cases the names of some of the better players from the olden days (for instance students at Joe Montana's old high school can buy high school jerseys with his name on it).

College brings out a whole different level of fandom and with it must more selection in terms of fan apparel. There is so much college sprit that you can't walk on to a campus without seeing the jerseys, tee shirts, pants, hats, jackets and shorts all with the name of the college and/or the sport they follow the most. Colleges depend on this popularity to help support the cost of the sports on campus. Just watch a college football game and look at the student section, you will see thousands of shirts, hats and other outfits that clearly support the college.

But the one that is probably the most popular is the professional team and the fan apparel that you as a fan can get when you are rooting for them. There is absolutely no limit to the types of clothes you can get for your favorite team. Regardless of what size, sex, style, design or weight of material you want you will be able to find it. Of course the most popular thing to wear is the team jersey. It is by far the most popular item but sometimes they are expensive and then the tee shirt or sweatshirt is selected.

Hats are also popular with fans. Most of the hats that fans choose are the baseball cap style but if the team plays outside in the cold the knit cap is also popular (just think of the Green Bay Packers). Regardless of what type of fan apparel you want you can get it at team stores, local department stores and other sporting goods stores in the city of the team you like. In some cases a team is so popular (like the NY Yankees) that you can find their apparel in any city. Of course you can always find apparel for the fan on line as well.
