Gift Egg-travaganza!

Easter is the oldest and most important Christian festival. It is the celebration of the death and coming to life again of Jesus Christ, which is why it is custom to give eggs at Easter as they represent 'new life'.

It seems the true meaning of Easter gets lost beneath the deluge of chocolaty goodies on offer at this time of year. The Easter bunny has already been working overtime in the stores. The shelves are packed with Easter treats. The Easter eggs seem to be multiplying from store to store, aisle to aisle like, well, rabbits! As for mini eggs, how can something so small and innocent be so devilishly addictive? They should come with a warning - once you open them and eat one that is it, you are at the mercy of the whole packet, and you end up eating them all. Easter eggs are just as bad, once you crack the chocolate; it becomes too irresistible, and takes all your will to just eat the one half!

If you are contemplating what Easter gifts to get your family and friends, hop online to findmeagift.com. There you will find a warren filled with egg-cellant Easter gift alternatives, perfect for those trying to give up chocolate for lent. But don't worry I've still included some choccy eggs.

Easter wouldn't be Easter without some sort of eggs. But stop right there and get chocolate off your brain and instead have a crack at these Egglings - Set of four Eggling Herbs or Flowers. They make an absolutely amazing gift. Whoever receives them will be totally egg-static! The herb set include basil, Thyme, mint and red chilli peppers, while the flower set comprises of lobelia, phlox, petunia and strawberry.

The egglings look and feel just like extra large eggs, all you have to do is crack the eggling's top and discover a garden ready to grow, just add water and place in a bright spot! Cute and clever, the egglings are also available to buy individually, so why not keep adding to the nest and set up your own hatchery!

So which came first, the chicken or the egg? Well, depends who wins with the Racing Chicken and Egg Toys! These cheep 'n' cheerful hand painted plastic windup toys make a hilarious novelty gift. They require no brainpower, just wind them up and let them race! Forget the egg and spoon race, have a much funnier chicken and egg race instead.

The days and nights are still a bit chilly, so why not treat yourself to a Warm Cuddles, or give one as a gift? Warm Cuddles are soft and cuddly friends that keep you warm and help you unwind. Choose from a dog, bear or a bunny. They all have an inner tummy pouch, which is filled with lavender scented wheat. Simply remove the wheat bag (don't worry it doesn't hurt your warm cuddles) and pop it into the microwave to heat. Then grab some hot cross buns and sit back, relax and cosy up to your warm cuddly friend and unwind as the gentle aroma soothes your senses.

But if you cannot resist a good old fashioned chocolate Easter egg, then let me tempt you with a Thornton's Continental Milk Easter Egg. I know, as if you need much persuading when it comes to their chocolate! You do not just get a large milk chocolate egg, oh no, it comes with 19 gorgeously scrummy continental chocolates too. Of course if it's just the egg you are after; feel free to send the choccies back to me!

Or if you are more of an archetypal Thornton's chocolate connoisseur, then choose the Thornton's Classic Easter Egg. A diamond designed egg, accompanied with a collection of chocolates from their most popular Thornton's Classics range. You or whoever you choose to receive one of these as a gift will be in Easter heaven!

With findmeagift.com you can have your Simnel cake and eat it! Buck the trend and save some doe, with their wide range of gifts and gadgets at competitive prices. So my chirpy cheep cheeps, have a hoppy Easter!
