More often than not, what we see on the big and small screens are scenes culled from the real-life experiences of people from various walks of life. As they say in the film and television industries, movies and television programs are usually a case of art imitating life.
In the case of two cast members from the award-winning medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy, it was the exact opposite as their lives have recently come to mirror their onscreen adventures, only this time, they have found themselves on the receiving end of medical care.
On television, Kali Rocha plays Dr. Sydney Heron on Grey’s Anatomy. In real life, the actress will be under the regular care of a very specific kind of doctor over the next few months. Rocha announced recently that she and her husband are eagerly anticipating their very first child.
"I keep hearing this theory that if you look very rounded in the face and you [get sick] a lot, it's a girl. I have a round face all the time, but I didn't [get sick] once,” the actress who is three months on the family way, remarked to CelebrityBabies.com. The theory also says that if you are feeling good and have a square jaw, it's a boy. So I have no idea. Maybe I have a hermaphrodite."
In other news, Justin Chambers, who portrays yet another doctor, Alex Karev, on Grey’s Anatomy, voluntarily checked himself into the psych ward at the UCLA medical center last week. This is the same facility where troubled pop star, Britney Spears, has also been committed, following her psychiatrist’s determination that the singer could pose a threat to herself as well as to others. For his part, Grey’s Chambers was reportedly admitted because of exhaustion as well as a sleep disorder the actor suffers from.
