How to be a Celebrity Leader

Posted: Jul 25, 2011 |Comments: 0 |

The celebrity world is glitzy and at the same time, dark place. The 'unobtainable' status of being an A List celebrity brings with it so much power, wealth, fame and exciting opportunities, that people will be prepared to do almost anything to get there. Being a celebrity leader is the pinnacle of this position. I was show below how simple leadership principles obtained through leadership degrees or leadership courses could help you thrive into becoming a top celebrity.

This has produced an extremely complicated world - reported on in gossip magazines and websites in a 24/7 fashion. How is one to win in this dramatic game? Many celebrities such as Will Smith, Jennifer Aniston, J-Lo and Jay-Z are un-equaled leaders in their various areas of entertainment. How did they get there? How did they become such a power leader? They certainly possess all the leadership traits needed to hold such a position, but at the same time, they definitely didn't go to a leadership course or leadership degree to get their skills.

So where is the secret source of their leadership ability? Were they coached by elusive yet wise mentors, who taught them everything they knew? Was it perhaps simply sheer luck that they managed to find themselves where they are today? Or do they actually possess different leadership skills, and simply allow a hard working ethic to make sure they achieved their full potential? We will explore these options below. Perhaps you will be able to use this guide as a pathway to your own celebrity success!

Dumb Luck. As many celebrities have often stated, it was sheer luck that landed them their first key TV role, record deal or publisher. Without that first step, one could argue, these celebrities may have stayed in the shadows, and today we wouldn't have even heard their names. A sad thought, I'm sure. But at the same time, also comforting to think that an invisible force is actually picking and choosing who makes it and who doesn't. Sure that means we all have a shot? The 'luck' theory suggests that we should all give fame a shot, if it's what we dream about day and night, because you never know whether its your lucky day. TV Shows such as America/Britain's got talent and American Idol/X Factor have shown how just one 'punt' can lead to 100 million views on YouTube within one week!

Wise Mentors. Many celebrities continually cite the wise words of their parents, coaches, agents or publicity agents as one of the reasons why they did what they did in the early days, which secured their success in later life. Could it be that these few powerful words hold the power to transform a plain Jane into an international superstar? It sounds unlikely, and I personally believe that all the oratory and motivational speeches in the world will not compensate for the fact you have no talent. Though there is no denying that if the talent exists, then a bit of encouragement can go a long way in achieving fame. Besides, if you never have the confidence to audition, then you have 0% of being found. Anything greater than 0% is (by definition) better than nothing! Leadership can only thrive in someone who believes in their leadership ability.

Hard work/Training. If you were to ask all professional singers whether they were originally professionally/classically trained as a singer, you'll see a mixed show of hands. Many rappers and R&B artists wouldn't have touched a singing coach with a barge pole at the start of their careers, although I imagine that attitude has certainly relaxed since. This mixed results shows that official training is inconclusive, although private practice has ALWAYS been essential in developing talent. "I've been singing since I was 6" is a common phrase. This just goes to show that regardless your connections and your mentors, your appearance or dumb luck - practice and hard work is the corner stone in becoming a celebrity leadership idol.
