I have been using it for quite some time, and you truly do get some really good programming. You get the pay per view programming, and the specialty channels, hundreds of sports channels and all the adult programming. This however is not the legit satellite TV. It's free to air which is pretty much what all your neighbors are using, unless they like wasting money on their satellite TV service which nobody really likes wasting money on anyways. I mean, it's quite evident that most people who got satellite dishes hooked up to their house are not paying monthly fees of 300 dollars. In fact with all those channels and all those movies available on demand, would cost you in upwards to 1000 dollars per month. So most people just get a receiver and pay some dude a couple hundred bucks to set up their illegal satellite service. So is this dangerous? Not really, considering everyone is doing it. Dish Network, or DirecTV don't really have the man power or capability to go send people out and sue individual satellite users. So instead what they do is zap the system. When they do this "zapping" you're satellite system gets cut out and doesn't work anymore. If you have a FTA or free to air system you will probably have to update some keys. Or, you will have to take your computer to you're PC and plug it in and download a new file to your receiver. If you're not that tech savvy or computer knowledgeable then you probably will have trouble updating keys or updating your receiver from your PC. So a lot of people call up their satellite guy or girl and get them to come over to do it for them. Or some people will go and take their satellite receiver to the place they bought and pay anywhere from 10-50 bucks to get a new update. So in time this can become a pretty big hassle and most people end up getting really frustrated and annoyed with updating. Especially when the satellite providers are 'zapping' the system a couple times a month. So what is the solution to all this? How can you get some good satellite service and not have to deal with the constant updating and headaches of setting up satellite systems. Keep in mind it will probably cost you anywhere from 300-500 dollars to set up a satellite dish on your house and get it connected to your television set. I personally use a software program that gets me satellite TV on my PC. It's a pretty good program that offers you about 3000 channels and the system never goes out or gets zapped. You pretty much get every channel on the face of the earth. There are no monthly fees at all either. However, I do understand how most people want to connect their satellite system to their television. So what I have done is basically connect my laptop to my TV and use a Super video cable to get the output on the TV. This is pretty cool stuff and basically makes your computer screen your TV screen.
