Washington Nationals tickets are being bought by eager fans who want to check out their beloved team play in their new home ball park. The Nationals Park will open its gates to the public on 30th March 2008. It can seat a capacity crowd of 41,222 people. The team plays for the Eastern Division of the National League they have been based in Washington since 2005. The team was established in 1969, in Montreal, Quebec as the Montreal Expos. The team did not play well during its first decade but after Dick Williams became their manager the team won 99 games in a row in both 1979 and 1980. The team won a divisional title in 1981. Rusty Staub, Bill Lee, Gary Carter, Andre Dawson and Tim Raines are some of the team’s best players. The next decade passed uneventfully and in 1994 the Expos made a comeback under the new manager Felipe Alou. Stars such as Cliff Floyd, Pedro Martinez and Larry Walker played fantastically unfortunately the player’s’ strike brought an end to their glory.

Major League baseball took over the team in 2002. They hired Frank Robinson to manage the team and in the ensuing two years moved the team to Washington and named them the Washington Nationals. The new team soon had solid fan base who were buying Nationals tickets and cheering the team on to give the game their best. 2006 season was one to remember as Alfonso Soriano became the 4th player to steal 40+ bases and hit 40 + home runs in the same season. Ramon Ortiz and Jose Vidro are the other players who performed well in 2006 and lured fans to buy National tickets.

It is now owned by Ted Lerner and managed By Jim Bowden. They managed to secure the Lastings Milledge, Elijah Dukes, Paul LaDouca who are likely to improve the team’s offense and defense.
