6. Outline: Before you sit down to write create four main aspects to your outline: the inciting event, the rising tension, the climax, and the resolution. Then you should work on how your main character will be influenced at each of these points, by showing how at first he has his own way, which may or may not be successful, second, how he begins to change his perspective; third, his main crisis - his turning point; and finally, whether his choice was a good one or a bad one.
