Monsters vs. Aliens is coming out shortly on dvd and is a great family friendly movie to watch with the whole gang. If you have recently updated your home entertainment system it is also being released in blu-ray so check out CDWow to get your copy.
Monsters vs. Aliens is now on DVD and blu-ray for you to watch with your family and friends. The movie is after a comic book and is even better. It is by DreamWorks, the same company that came out with the ever loved movies Shrek and Shrek 2.
The start of the movie is an Earth invasion by aliens that do not like human beings what so ever. Even though there is military and defense, the aliens will stop at nothing to take over the planet. It is now all up to a few, out of the ordinary heroes like gel blue blob named Bob, voiced by Seth Rogen, a giant 50 ft tall girl, voiced by Reese Witherspoon and Dr. Cockroach who is voiced by the multitalented Hugh Laurie and Will Arnett as the Missing Link. Each character is special in its own way, and they are all funny in this animated movie.
The great thing about this movie is that you can watch it with kids and adults and both will absolutely love it. The cast is amazing and the 3D and animation are out of this world. The DVD and blu-ray are being released and there will even be an extra disc on there with an adventure for the kids to enjoy.
The Blu-ray and DVD contain all the standard extras including some behind the scenes stuff and previews of other DreamWorks movies including the great Jack Black in Kung Fu Panda. There were a ton of animated movies this past summer, but along with Pixar/Disney's Up, this movie was one of the best and most fun. I think that every animated movie from now on is going to be made in 3D, at least until audiences get bored and tired with the gimmick, but it works well for this movie.
The 3D technology has gotten much better than in the past and I don't get the migraine anymore when I watch them. Bottom line, this movie is a definite but because it can be watched multiple times and enjoyed each time.
