Giving gifts is as much fun as receiving them. Your pleasure soars when you get just the thing that's fun and useful. In gift-giving, you also want to give your family and friends something they enjoy. These gifts do not need to be expensive, yet they can convey your warm thoughts and how much you value your family and friends. Maybe even the boss, too.
Coming Up Soon - Valentines' Day and Birthdays
Just when the holidays have faded away, you are up to another round of gift-giving. Valentines' Day is just around the corner and someone is having a birthday soon. There'll be christenings, baby showers, graduations, weddings, and more occasions that would call for gift-giving.
You often delay shopping for the right gifts. Perhaps you have no time, or just dread the thought of having to look for the gifts that will please, not dismay the recipient. It's not about expensive gifts. The trick is knowing what people like, as well as their hobbies and their lifestyles.
You won't be caught dead giving someone on a diet a deep-fryer. A little boy will go for a box of colorful and shiny marbles, instead of a book about butterflies. A teener will go for a CD of his or her favorite band, not a cuddly bear. Your women friends will appreciate how-to books. Men will be as proud as peacocks if you give them elegant money clips. Unique gift baskets maybe the best solution, but it's all about knowing what your friends like that will give you the edge in gift-giving.
Start listening to the people around you. They'll be moaning about the things they need but don't have the time to get it for themselves. That would clue you in to more gift-giving ideas. Everybody, not only you, run out of ideas and find themselves stumped for gifts that will please the recipient that won't hurt their budget.
Gift Ideas
Out there in the mall and in virtual shops, there are hundreds of gift ideas to pick up. To make it easier for you, categorize the gifts. The gifts of health, beauty, and gifts that can build memories are presents that everybody can enjoy. These are the gifts you'd love to have opened in your presence.
The gift of health would include exercise tapes, fitness videos, jumping ropes, and heart monitors. For the gift of beauty, consider foot and bath spas, lipsticks, a set of nail polish, beaded bracelets and charms, and especially formulated bath soaps. Surprise the gourmet with a basket of special condiments and spices, the bookworm with the latest bestseller, and the rabid hobbyist a tool kit. Little girls will like colorful aprons and a session of baking gingerbread cookies with you. Babies will keep on running after different balls and the mom of a new born will appreciate your thoughtfulness when you give her a basket of baby bath essentials.
Tips for Successful Gift-Giving
Start listening to your friends and determine their shopping preferences and know the things they like. Perhaps they like those citrus-scented candles and pop or classical music. Perhaps your mom is talking non-stop about her need to get an alarm clock with the maximum volume for your dad. Keep on listening and you'll be storing bits of important information that'll make your gift-shopping and giving an easy task.
Stick to your budget, though, because nothing can wreck your shopping plan but a ruined budget. Also, keep track of the gifts you've given to people in the past years. You might be giving the same classical CD to your boss. Now that would be embarrassing.
