Find it Necessary to Cover Your Tattoo on the Job?

Is your employer asking you to conceal your tattoo?  What an offensive demand.  Cover your pride and joy, a symbol of your individuality, the artwork of which you are so proud?  What could they be thinking?

  1. The "Corporate Image" must be maintained.

Dress codes have always had a place in employment practices.  Most large companies, city organizations, law enforcement, fire and military all have some sort of policy with regard to the representation that they want their employees to present during working hours and sometimes even in off hours.

"Inked" employees are burdened with trying to find temporary ways to conceal their treasured images while they're on the job.  Finding a method that will be both easy and comfortable can be a frustrating task.  However, several techniques can be used to achieve this goal.

Clothing is probably used most often to hide body art.  A long sleeve shirt or jacket will cover most of the upper body.  Make-up is also used but tends to become smeared, fade out or wipe off.  Tattoo cover up sleeves are also available.  The sleeves offer an easy solution without drawing too much attention to the wearer.

Ink Armor has produced tattoo cover up sleeves that are breathable, flexible and comfortable to wear.  These sleeves are offered in both full and half sleeve styles and are available in a range of sizes and skin tone colors.

Based on the current trend, it is most likely that more companies will introduce tattoo policies in the future.  No matter what method is used, visible tattoos will need to be covered in the workplace to meet with employer's guidelines.
