The Aim of the Monuments

As usual different monuments and memorials serve to evoke different feelings and emotions. But the realization of them depends upon the person. For example, if the site can evoke in somebody the feeling of pride and reality, it does not mean that it will affect another person in the same way. This is another reason for the success of the site. Everybody has different realization of memorials. Someone thinks that it is enough to make small monument and it will be enough for everybody to remember. The others suppose that the real memorial must be huge and only in this way it will be remarkable. The main aim of good memorial is not only evoking certain feelings, but also connecting reality with the past and between people and the site.
The monument should be built or painted the way the observers could feel the atmosphere and the events, described by it. There is a good example of such memorial is “The Nurse and the Soldier”. The absence of surgery table and medical tools gives the idea of vulnerability, that the soldiers were not treated in a proper way. Depicting some sympathy in the eyes of nurse is enough to make portray beautiful and successful. Looking at this portray, people would have certain emotions and feelings, and would never want to appear in that situation. Actually there are a lot of the monuments hat can evoke so wonderful feelings and emotions, feeling of delight and satisfaction. War memorials are very important and interesting. A negotiated view as foe war memorials was shown by Down Casey, who stated that people should find different ways of showing past, as traditional ways are already old and the values and memorial goals of that time differs from modern ones.
