The infrared sauna isn't like the standard sauna. The occupants of the infrared sauna are heated by heaters that emit infrared rays rather than using heated steam to produce the heat. Standard saunas actually heat the air whereas the infrared sauna doesn't. The infrared sauna contains a wooden box that has numerous infrared heaters. The atmosphere in the infrared sauna is similar to the traditional sauna, the heaters are what actually produces the heat. The ability to heat the skin directly rather than having to heat the air as well is what makes the infrared sauna unique. The heat can go through the skin about 1 ½ inches into the body. It has been said that this method is completely safe to utilize.

The purpose of using a sauna is to cleanse the body. It is becoming increasingly known that cleansing your body is very important to a healthy lifestyle. When you sweat, the infrared sauna will get rid of impurities and toxins that are in your body. This will definitely promote good health as impurities and toxins that are in your body could affect your health negatively.

The importance of privacy has been looked at by many sauna users and that is why you can find infrared saunas in many homes. This promotes privacy which is definitely different from the level of privacy you would have at a public facility. In a public sauna, you have to worry about covering up whereas at home you can use your sauna completely nude. Clothing does place limitations on where and how you sweat.

The body is heated in the infrared sauna much like the way it does when it is exposed to natural sunlight outdoors. When the infrared sauna is being used, the body will be heated in a normal manner. This is done by the types of wavelengths that this type of sauna uses to heat the body.

There are many benefits that are able to be taken advantage of when using the infrared sauna. Let's go over some of the most popular ones. This should make you aware of what you can use the infrared sauna for.

By sweating during your session, you body is also burning calories which helps you lose weight. Not only will this help you lose weight, it also detoxifies the body in an efficient manner. This will help assure you that the toxins within your body will be released.

If your skin is healthy, it will have a healthy glow to it. By using a infrared sauna you will generate a healthy flow of nutrients to your skin. This will help alleviate various skin problems such as acne and burns. Minor cuts are also helped with the healing process when you use a infrared sauna.

Your immune system is what helps you block sickness and disease. That is where infrared saunas can help you increase the strength of your immune system. This will help you have a stronger resistance to flu and cold symptoms.

As you can see, the infrared sauna has quite a bit of positive uses. If you want to keep your body cleansed and healthy, this would be a great choice for you. There are also portable versions of the infrared sauna which makes it easier for its owners to take it with them wherever they go.

Infrared saunas use infrared heaters to generate heat. It is a hundred percent safe and has no known side effects. The heat emitted by the infrared heater can increase blood flow and circulation, can help repair damaged tissues. This heat can penetrate up to 3cm deep. FIR or Far Infrared energy uses radiant heat to give heat directly to a certain object. I was burned by infrared heat
By: sunshine | 24-07-2008
A couple days ago I went to a well known spa and had a mud wrap/vichy shower. Once the mud wrap was put on the therapist shut the vichy capsule and turned on the infrared heat. He warned me it could get a little hot, but I tan so I wasn't concerned. The therapist left the room and I started getting really hot. The temperature read 102 degrees and it kept climbing. I was in a lot of pain because my skin felt like it was burning. The temperature reached 109 degrees before the therapist came back in. I went back to my hotel room and noticed that I had red burn splotches on various parts of my body. I talked with the spa manager and he said the therapists have been told not to use the infrared light because there's a glitch in the system and it keeps getting hotter and hotter and doesn't stop. My question is...my burn is cleared up (manager said it was a steam burn from the infrared) but could there have been any internal damage done from my body being heated up that high? Has anyone ever heard of this happening before?
