The Great Dallas Theatre Center And Its Shows

The Dallas Theatre Center was opened in 1959 by the combined efforts of Beatrice Handel and John Rosenfield, the then amusements editor of “The Dallas Morning News.” The building design is the creative product of legendary architect named Frank Lloyd Wright.

Actually, it was all Handel’s idea when in 1954, he wanted to have a center where people could unwind, forgetting their everyday tensions, and soak in complete entertainment. Also, he wanted to have a place where the talented artists could hone their acting skills and show them off to the world.

Earlier known as Kalita Humphrey’s Theatre, the Dallas Theatre Center has witnessed the making and breaking of careers of a large number of artists, directors, musicians, choreographers, producers, and other creative people. It has also witnessed the burning desire of theatre fans that go wild for getting Dallas Theater tickets.

The 12th Annual Leon Rabin Awards Ceremony was held on November 13, 2006 at the home of Dallas Children’s Theatre – the Rosewood Center for Family Arts. The awards were presented by the Dallas Theatre League. Celebrities who attended this ceremony got a chance to watch the talent and beauty of Marisa Diotalevi, the gorgeous event host, who sang the opening number of the awards ceremony and danced to it too.

March, 2008 saw a huge crowd at the Dallas Theatre Center. People were almost on top of each other to get Dallas Theater tickets to watch Robert Hewett’s show “The Blonde, The Brunette, and The Vengeful Redhead.” The show revolves around a desperate housewife, who suspects her husband of having an affair and takes some interesting steps to catch him red-handed. The noteworthy feature of this show is that the entire story is played by just one artist. She plays seven roles in the play. Thus, it’s a one-woman show. The show opened on March 3, 2008 and ran till April 6.

Just stepping inside the Dallas Theatre Center is enough to make you experience the vastness of Broadway talent. You can actually feel being a part of one of the biggest entertainment industries of America. This is the place where stars are made; where legends are created; and where people can happily watch their fantasies come to life!
