Art has to be ever-changing otherwise it would stagnate and would cease to be a source of pleasure. The buying and selling of art would go down and people's appreciation of any form of art would substantially diminish. Contemporary art has carved a niche for itself by it's constantly evolution in various forms and now commands almost the same respect as that of the old masters. Contemporary art auctions have been on the rise in recent years and thus have really helped put contemporary art on the map as more and more people have realized the value of having one such artwork in their possession.

It is no longer unusual to see wealthy patrons of art shelling out millions of bucks on unknown artists, artists whose works are fetching quadruple of the original amount. This change in attitude to art is in a great measure due to the fact that the very world of purchasing/selling art has undergone a change from being elite swanky dos to simply sitting in front of a computer maybe in your home/office or even a cyber café!

Unlike in the past, online auctions do not require an invite or connections and the only ‘connection' necessary is the internet connection and of course, your credit card. This has simplified matters in more ways than one because also unlike in the past you do not have to carry wads of notes to pay instantly for your purchase but can charge it to your credit to be paid later. Online contemporary art auctions give you the vantage point of hopping from one site to the other effortlessly to check on the bids and prices of selected pieces.

Collecting good art comes with experience and if you are interested in contemporary art as an investment it is vital to pick up the promising artist's works early on in his career before he has made a name for himself. This basically entails taking a chance on new and emerging artists whose works show enough potential for you to gamble upon but whether your gamble will pay off or not depends a lot on your practiced eye and luck.

Experienced art collectors can make out whether an unknown artist is worth investing in but newcomers with less experience might make mistakes and this is a chance which has to be taken. Contemporary art auctions online give you the opportunity to run your eyes over the works of these emerging artists and place a bid but you have to exhibit patience and be prepared to wait  a long time before the artist commands respect from his peers/media and his works become sought-after.

Buying works of new, talented artists when the economy is weak makes sound financial sense if the purpose of the purchase is investment as then you can get it for cheap and be able to sell if for lots more when the economy strengthens. Contemporary art auctions are a great start for patronizing new artists and making a collection of contemporary art.

Leonardo went beyond the sexual act portrayed until then about this mythic story. The great popularity of this subject in the sixteenth century was due to the fact that it was then more acceptable to depict a woman having an act of copulation with an animal than with a man.
