Disney Tattoo Guy' Read His Amazing Story of New Love!
He was one unhappy postal worker who became known for the 2,200 Disney images etched on his body something that earned him the label "Disney Tattoo Guy". But now, he is auctioning his 5,000 piece Disney collection to have those Disney images removed from his body so that he can be with the Disney princess destined for him. For George Reiger aka "Disney Tattoo Guy", the old him is dead.
Living in a 6,000-square foot Mickey Mouse-themed house with custom designed doors, ceilings, knobs and fixtures, in Bethlehem, Pa., Reiger owns one of the biggest collections in the country. His collection though will soon be sold on the auction block at William H. Bunch gallery in Chadds Ford on Monday. Further proving the extent of his collection was the photographing and tagging of the items that took 3 days.
Having decided to move to Miami to join his new love and start a new life, Reiger is letting go of all his Disney proprs and paraphernalia which include Mickey Mouse light fixtures and a 15-foot Nautilus submarine among the thousands that he own. he has made hundreds of trips to what is dubbed as the Happiest Place on Earth and has been crazy about Disney for 40 years. In fact because of his tattoos, in the many times he has been there,he generated more attention to himself than Snow White ever did.
Despite the attention he got from the print and the broadcast media, Reiger disclosed he had not been happy at all. He revealed that he had had 6 wives but he lost all of them because Disney was his top priority. Another surprising revealtion from him was that he had been so lonely and it made him crave for attention---thus, he got those tattoos.
And finally, Lady Love has arrived. Last September, while sitting in a big auditorium at a Disney convention in California, he never saw it coming that love would hit him the nth time around. Describing the 48-year old woman as "animated' and calling her Esmeralda (although her name is Kathleen), Reiger refused to divulge more information about her. He added that this woman made him feel like a kid not long after boarding a Disney Cruise ship in cape Canaveral in Florida. And the rest is history.
In January, Reiger plans to move to Miami where his lady love lives and start a new life with her. Though she doesn't really mind his tattoos, Reiger took it upon himself to have them removed. He said he wants to wear short sleeves and short pants without gathering attention. The Disney Tattoo Guy had his first Disney tattoo when he was 18 after he was so smitten by a scene from Fantasia. Then, his passion for anything Disney took off from there. Now, his body is covered with tattoo images that replicated The Little Mermaid, Monstro the whale from Pinocchio, Tinkerbell and the Rocketeer and so on.
However, all this inked images on his skin will be soon gone along with his collection which has been estimated to sell between 50,000 and 100000 US dollars.
