How Much Do Tattoo’s Cost?

Posted: Feb 02, 2009 | Comments: 0 | Views: 904 | Bookmark and Share

I get this question a lot from people who see my tattoos. After they ask me all the normal questions, did it hurt, how long did it take and so on. They always ask how much did it cost? Well I’m here to tell you there really isn’t a set rate to how much a tattoo cost. It all depends on the artist really. If you are going to a very well known experienced artist you can expect to pay $180 an hour and up. You also have to take in consideration how big the tattoo is and how many colors are going to be used. Also if you want some sort of custom tattoo that the artist has to draw out you will be looking at a bigger price tag than if you picked something off the wall.

Now probably what you all want to know, how much did I pay for my tattoos? I have no problem sharing. I paid $50 for my first tattoo which is a Lion’s head on my left shoulder blade and I paid $75 for my Libra Scales I have on the lower part of my back. Both of my tattoos took about 10 minutes a piece and they are not very big. So I hope this gives you a little insight on how much money you are going to spend on a tattoo. Just keep this in mind, you get what you pay for. Chances are if you are paying under $50 for a tattoo you may not be getting good quality work. Not unless you are just getting something very small like a star, intial or something along those lines.

When you think of charities you probably don’t even think about tattoos in the same sentence. Well I was pleasantly surprised yesterday to find out that this one tattoo parlor in Phoenix was holding a A 15-hour long fundraiser for Phoenix Children’s Hospital. A 30 minute session with one of the tattoo artists from Living Canvas Tattoos cost only $15! You honesty can not beat that price when an average 30 minute session would probably start at around $60 and up depending on the tattoo artist. T

I have written about tattoo placement once before but I wanted to touch on the subject again. Like I said before there are endless places on your body where you can get a tattoo. But when you have made the decision to get a tattoo, deciding where it should go on your body is just as important. For instance, if you don’t want to be preceived as trashy than getting a tattoo on your arm or some other highly visible place is probably not a good idea. If you are wanting a tattoo to express your sexin

It seems that more and more people are being forced to cover up their body art. I honestly can’t believe it has gone this far. It seems with the growing popularity of tattoos and society some what “excepting” them, oddly enough more and more jobs are requiring their employees to cover up their body art. Which if you ask me is completely unfair. I feel that making someone cover up their tattoo is discrimination against people who have ink. I mean we are taught not to judge someone by the color of

You may not have even given this one a thought, should I have my tattoo done in black ink or color ink? Well of course that decision is up to you and what you want. But there are a few little things you should know before you make that decisions. One of them being if you decide to get color ink your tattoo will cost more, so if you are looking to pinch pennies when getting a tattoo than I would go with black. Also I don’t know this from experience because all my tattoos are done in black ink, bu

The artists usually want their works to be seen by as many people as possible. And, prior to the web and it's broad use, the exclusive method was displays in galleries. For a lot of guitarists, studying the guitar fretboard can seem like a daunting challenge. In contrast to instruments such as the piano, 1 note can often be played in numerous positions and the difference between natural notes and accidentals is not clearly marked. Even permitting for the fact that the fretboard repeats following the 12th fret, there are still seventy two note positions to learn on a standard 6-string guitar! No wonder, quite a few guitar players rapidly give up learnin...

Getting a tattoo can be a great experience if you do it properly, but not thinking things through and just getting ink for the heck of it is not the best idea. If you truly want a tattoo you need to do your research like you would with anything and tattoos are no different. I for one being a tattooed person love to encourage non-tattooed people to go out and get inked, if it is something that they truly want to do. I also find great pleasure in being able to educate them on tattooing and things
