Sell Art Online - Is It For You?

Years ago there was only one way to sell your artwork and that was to pound the pavement. You had to walk from gallery to gallery with your portfolio begging to see the gallery owner and hoping that the owner would like your work enough to display it in his gallery. While many artists still choose to take this approach, more and more artists are embracing the notion of being able to sell art online.

In today's world, websites are dedicated to the act of displaying an artist's work and allowing that artist to set the rate he/she wants to receive for their work. Some artists build their own websites, eliminating the need to pay costly display fees and commissions to galleries and art selling sites. Do the gallery owners like this? Probably not, but when you don't have an expensive budget, why break it when you don't have to?

More and more often, the control of an artist's work is kept solely in the hands of the artist themselves. Whereas once an artist had to hope to find a gallery owner or an agent in order to display his art for public consumption, now the internet allows an artist's work to be seen all over the world. Now anybody can sell art online, whether or not that person is a recognized artist. Heck some people who would not consider themselves artists are selling online and building enormous reputations for themselves!

Do you want to sell art online? You are not alone! Take some time to research your options. There are plenty of ways to spread the word about your work on the Internet. Forums, classified ads, auction sites, sales portals, personal websites, all of these are methods by which a person can make money off of their artwork!

By: 24hoursupplements | 07/11/2009

About Green Tara Thangka

By: 24hoursupplements | 07/11/2009
Green Tara (Sanskrit: Syamatara; Tibetan: Sgrol-ljang), filled with youthful vigor, is a goddess of activity. She is the fiercer form of Tara, but is still a savior-goddess of compassion. She is the consort of Avalokiteshvara and considered by some to be the original Tara. Like Avalokiteshvara, the Green Tara is believed to be an emanation of the "self-born" Buddha Amitabha, and an image of Amitabha is sometimes depicted in Tara's headdress.
