The problem with the life expectancy of lithium batteries is that it is shortened by the continuous discharge and recharge

However, it is a phenomenal choice for travel. It can also serve as a fine extra machine to keep around for guests. It handles web browsing and Email easily. It can handle heavy duty graphic and developer applications (such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel, Visual Studio and Eclipse) adequately – you wouldn’t want to work on the machine all day, but it will work in a pinch. It is inexpensive enough so that if it were lost or stolen, it wouldn’t be a disaster (just remember to avoid using it to store personal information). With 7+ hours of real-world battery life, you’ll get used to not carrying the power adapter with you everywhere you go or seeking out a power outlet every time you want to use it.

Nissan uses its 2.5L, 198hp ICE, which is mated to a 30 KW NiMH battery pack pushing the 40 hp electric engine.  The car makes you feel good psychologically in its "ECO MODE", which is proudly displayed when you are on electric mode only.  It just makes you feel less guilty about driving.  The warranty is good for 15 years or 150,000 on emission control equipment.  None of the technicians had to replace a battery pack in 2 years.  The regenerative braking also showed how much attention Nissan put into its car, as it was so smooth, we barely noticed it.

Are an eco-friendly trio. All three are pretty spirited, they can go from 0-60mph in less than 11 seconds. The E-Cell uses a pure ev design with lithium ion HP laptop batteries and electric motors. The E-Cell Plus uses lithium ion batteries and electric motors to drive the wheels but also features a petrol-powered engine to charge the batteries. The F-Cell uses hydrogen fuel cells to power the electric motors. Only the E and F have zero tailpipe emissions. Confused? Heck, so am I!!! The vehicles are also expected to come in the funkiest of colors.

The eBox is a Scion, so nothing much to say here.  The only visual difference inside are that other gages have found their way on the dash, such as the amp meters.  What was surprising was pressing the accelerator and feel the car just go without delays or fuss.  A traditional gas engine needs to go up in revs and then starts to move the car, but it isn't so with an EV.  It has a linear power curve and the start was very smooth.  In fact, the harder you press, the harder the car pushes...  and it is relentless.  You need to be feathered foot or else you can easily find yourself driving 120 miles an hour with little efforts.  The eBox has regenerative breaking, which means release the pedal and the vehicle slows down and eventually comes to a stop.  You quickly learn to stabilize the speed of the EV, if you let go of the accelerator, it will slow down the EV by using its electric engine drive to slow it down while pumping electricity back into the battery pack.

Markem cites research from ad agency Saatchi & Saatchi that 35 percent of female Internet users would increase spending on consumer electronics if the industry tried harder to reach them and that half of women walk out of consumer electronics stores without buying anything because they can’t find what they want.

The problem with the life expectancy of lithium batteries is that it is shortened by the continuous discharge and recharge. The answer was to couple them to high power density ultracapacitors that relieves the lithium pack from abuse and extends their life cycle to a 10 year, 150,000 mile life with the Extreme Hybrid™ SUV.

The RX 450h stores its 288-volt nickel metal hydride (Ni-MH) HP laptop battery pack under the rear seat. It’s more compact and lighter than that of its predecessors. The power control unit that houses the power converter, inverter and condenser—we’ll just have to learn this new electrical jargon in this new era of hybrids and electric cars—is also smaller and lighter.

And in trailing throttle situations—with the driver’s foot is off the gas pedal and momentum pushing the car along, or in regenerative braking mode—the rear motor also contributes to recharging the Compaq Presario V2600 Battery  pack. The system display has separate lines showing power to and power from the rear wheels.

The capacitor is the heart of the drive system. It stores the equivalent of 0.42 Kwh, or equivalent to 0.035 gallons of gasoline (4.5 ounces). You can’t get very far on that amount of power so the vehicle does not work as a home plug-in. The capacitor does buffer the power from the engine allowing the engine to always run at an efficient speed. The capacitor provides for bursts of power when the vehicle accelerates and can capture the power from regenerative braking. That is what gives the vehicle its improved fuel economy.

“Women don’t want to be patronized with pink stuff but rather products that are sleek and well-designed,” the Saatchi research notes.
