5 Elements of Successful Article Writing

Posted: Dec 21, 2009 |Comments: 0 |

Article marketing is another method of online marketing (a type of off-page SEO) that helps your organic SEO results a lot if done properly. A well-written article is composed of certain elements arranged into a structure. But, what converts this structure into a winning article marketing campaign is the soul of the article, rich content, which should be smartly created.

1) The Title of an Article

What introduces your content and should attract your readers to begin to read your content is the title that you choose for your article. It should have your main keyword in it while written in an attractive manner. When web users come across the title of your article, they should find it appealing enough to click on it and go to the article itself to read it.

2)The Introduction of an Article

Once the title of the article is clicked upon, the curious reader starts reading the article from the top. So, your first paragraph, the introduction, should sum up what your article is going to be about. The reader shouldn't be kept confused. By the time she finishes reading this introduction, she should have read a summary of the entire article.

This summary should be interesting enough that could draw her to the next paragraph and toward the end of the article.

3) The body of an Article

You include the details that support your topic and elaborate it in a clear way using your ultimate skill in SEO copywriting. You should offer your best opinions and the main flesh of the whole article in this part to satisfy your reader. If you've managed to bring your readers to this point, the body of your article should make them so happy that they feel they've read the major part of what they've been looking for.

4) The Conclusion of an Article

Once your readers have completed reading the body of an article, you should help them wrap up what they've read and mold it into a few sentences to remember the core message of your content. The conclusion part of your article is to make sure this goal is achieved.

At the end of the conclusion part, the readers should have brought to a hungry state of mind to explore more of your information, product and services. It doesn't mean that they shouldn't have been given enough in the article. What I mean by hungry state of mind is that they should feel so overwhelmed that they feel they need more of your stuff.

5) The author's Biography in an Article

When your readers are searching for more or feeling curious to know more about you and your web content, your author biography should persuade them to click on your links. Those links should have your keywords and be appealing enough for the readers to click.

Mission Accomplished

When you manage to get readers to your article and from the articles to your site/blog, you've achieved your goal. Of course, this isn't always the purpose of writing articles. When mass distribution is involved, the objective will be to get more links. This is more in line with the objectives of off-page SEO.

Sometimes, you'd like to get readers from article directories and sometimes through search engines. What I've mentioned in this article was true about the first group.
