7 Ways To Get More Traffic From Every Article

Article marketing is known as one of the most cost effective ways to drive pre-qualified, targeted traffic to your web site. You write simple little articles about your chosen niche and if people like the information you've given them, they'll click through to your site from the link in the resource box.

And that's where you can start pitching them on your product or service.

But just submitting an article to the online directories isn't enough if you really want to leverage your time. In this article I'm going to give you 7 different ways you can reuse an article so it sends you even more traffic, for a longer period of time.

1. Use it on your blog. Some people say you should put it on your blog before submitting to the directories, other folks say the opposite. Whichever way you decide, posting the article on your blog should be one of your first actions.

2. Turn it into a podcast. Fire up something like Audacity and record your article. If you're writing at least one article a week (and you're probably doing more than that) you have all the content you need for a short weekly podcast.

3. Record a video version. Use something like Keynote or PowerPoint to create slides with the key points of your article. Use ScreenFlow or Camtasia to record that presentation while you read the article -- voila, instant video article that can be used on YouTube and other video sharing sites.

4. Combine several into a special report. Take several similar articles and turn them into a special report that can be sold or given away as an incentive for people to join your list.

5. Combine even more together as an ebook. Almost every article marketer has created enough content for a full-blown ebook they can sell. Gather your articles together and then see if you need to write a couple more to fill in the cracks.

6. Allow your affiliates to use them. If you sell your own product and have affiliates, turn your articles into promo pieces your affiliates can use on their blogs, for their email lists, etc. They get promotional content to use for free, and you end up making more sales.

7. Put in an autoresponder series. If you're building a list you need to keep sending people new content. Either send an entire article as one part of the email series, or send the summary and a link to the full article. By doing it that way you can put Adsense ads on your article pages and monetize it that way, too.
