Writing articles is one of the best methods available to advertise your online business. If you place a classified or solo ad, it will work for you only during the time it is published. But an article can benefit you for months or even years.
Webmasters are constantly on the lookout for good quality articles that are related to their niche. When they find them, they place them on their site along with the resource box links that you included. This benefits you in two ways; you get free advertising to a whole new group of people, and you get valuable backlinks that the search engines love.
The search engines use backlinks to determine the relative importance of your site. Sites with many backlinks get a better ranking. A good ranking is important because it is a major factor in determining where your site is listed when people do searches. The ten sites with the best rankings are listed on page one, lower ranked sites are listed on the pages that follow. Get enough backlinks and your site could wind up on page one. This, in turn will bring you lots of additional organic search traffic.
The key to getting webmasters to place your articles on their sites is simple. Write quality articles that have between 350 and 500 words. Word length is more important than most people think. Most webmasters don’t want 2000 word articles that ramble on just to add bulk. They want to keep their viewers interested. They want to provide quick concise information.
Make sure your articles contain a resource box with no more than 2 or 3 links. One of the links should always point back to your site. This is how you will develop those valuable backlinks. The other links can direct readers to products that you are promoting. Over time, some people will click on your links and you will generate income. Using this link strategy, you get the best of both worlds, backlinks and income.
