Juggling Freelance Writer Jobs
When your ghostwriting service gets going, you'll find yourself with more freelance writer jobs than you can handle. And I really mean that - pretty soon they'll be stacking up and you'll be wondering how to get them all done. There are lots of way so do this, so I'm going to offer one way that works well for me.
One way is to just start on the first one, do it all, do the next, the next, and so on. This is what I do when I'm a bit behind on things, but ultimately it's pretty tedious. If you have a pretty mundane job (40 articles on plumbing, for instance), it can be pretty hellish blasting through that. Even jobs that you enjoy in niches you like can get you burned out if you soldier through them that way.
What I do sometimes is work in shifts. I take all of my freelance writer jobs and decide in the morning how much I'm going to do on each. Usually, it's an hour. So, I start on the first one and work an hour on it. When the hour's up, I'm done. Then, I move on to the next one.
It doesn't have to be an hour, but whatever you feel like. If I've got more jobs to do, I might make it 45 minutes or something like that.
There are a few benefits to this method:
1) As I mentioned before, it helps to keep you from burning out.
2) You're focusing on each job for a set period of time. This is sometimes good because you can really get into it.
3) By doing your jobs little by little, it's less stressful as you get close to deadlines. That's right - this is a great procrastination-busting strategy!
4) You're getting started on every job instead of just one, so if there's a hitch that holds you up, you'll know about it before the day the job's due.
Working as a web content writer and doing it yourself is great, but being organized is a must. This is a method for handling multiple freelance writer jobs that really works for me. I'd recommend trying a few different strategies and see what works best for you.
